General
Is Magic Over Murray free to attend?
Yes! Magic Over Murray is a free community event. We gladly accept parking donations and general donations to help cover the cost of putting on the festival.
When and where is it?
September 18–20, 2026. Morning launches and tethered rides are at Cottonwood High School (5715 S 1300 E). The Saturday Vendor Market, food trucks, STEM activities, Touch a Truck, W.O.W. Car Show, and DJ & Emcee run from 5–9 PM at Murray Park (5175 S Parkside Dr, Murray, UT 84107). The Balloon Glow begins at dusk.
Is there parking?
Free parking is available at both venues. We gladly accept parking donations.
Are dogs allowed?
No, dogs and pets are not allowed at the event.
Can I fly my drone?
No. The airspace over the event is restricted by the FAA. Drones are not permitted.
Hot Air Balloons
How many balloons will be there?
The final balloon lineup is still being confirmed. Visit the Pilots page to meet the currently announced pilots, and follow Magic Over Murray for lineup updates.
Where do the balloons launch?
All morning mass ascensions launch from Cottonwood High School around 7:30 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, weather permitting. Arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 AM for setup and the best view.
Are launches guaranteed?
All launches are weather dependent. Wind, rain, and other conditions can affect whether balloons can safely fly. Arrive early and follow our social media for real-time updates.
What is the Balloon Glow?
At dusk on Saturday, fully inflated balloons stay tethered to the ground and light up like giant lanterns against the evening sky.
Can I take a balloon ride?
Tethered rides are $25 in advance / $30 on-site, last 10–15 minutes, ages 3+, from 7:30–10:30 AM Friday–Sunday at Cottonwood High School. Sign the required waiver and buy tethered-ride tickets. Free-flight rides are available to sponsors.

How do I volunteer?
We'd love to have you! Volunteers get up-close balloon access and a front-row view of everything. No experience needed — sign up on the Volunteer page.
Are food truck applications open?
No. The 2026 food truck lineup is full. Food truck operators interested in future festivals can contact the committee.
Are Vendor Market applications open?
No. Applications for the 2026 Vendor Market are now closed. Festival guests can still shop the market at Murray Park on Saturday, September 19 from 5–9 PM. See the Vendor Market page for details.
How do I become a sponsor?
Sponsorships range from $500 to $10,000 and include perks like balloon flights, booth space, logo placement, DJ shout-outs, and more. See the Sponsors page for full tiers.
