Hot Air Balloons
Magic Over Murray 2026 will feature 13 hot air balloons — a mix of returning favorites and exciting new pilots from Utah and beyond.
All morning mass ascensions launch from Cottonwood High School (5715 S 1300 E, Murray, UT) at Sunrise (approximately 7 am) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and cameras!
All balloon launches are weather dependent. Wind, rain, and other conditions can affect whether balloons can safely fly. Arrive early and follow our social media for real-time updates on launch status.
A nightglow is one of the most magical things you'll ever see. Fully inflated hot air balloons are tethered to the ground and lit up after dark, glowing like giant lanterns against the night sky. They don't fly — they stay in place so you can walk right up to them, meet the pilots, and take amazing photos. It's the highlight of Magic Over Murray.
Free-flight balloon rides are available to event sponsors at certain sponsorship levels. View sponsorship packages here.

Tethered balloon rides are available to the general public for $25 in advance and $30 on-site. Rides run 7:30–10:30 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Cottonwood High School. Each ride is 10–15 minutes and is open to ages 3 and up.
