How a community celebration became Magic Over Murray.
It Started With a Question
For the last two years,
people knew this event as the
Utah Hot Air Balloon Palooza.
It was loved by thousands.
Families came every September
to watch colorful balloons rise over Murray.
But over time, one question kept coming back.
Was this event really about hot air balloons... or was it about something much bigger?
We Changed More Than the Name
We didn't change the name because the old one was wrong.
We changed it because we wanted it to tell the whole story.
Magic Over Murray isn't simply about balloons.
It's about wonder.
It's about community.
It's about traditions that families return to year after year.
It's about creating memories that last a lifetime.
Why I Keep Coming Back
I have watched hundreds of balloons launch.
But that's not what stays with me.
It's the child looking up with her mouth open in amazement.
It's the volunteers laughing after working sixteen-hour days.
It's the families who tell me this weekend has become their tradition.
It's the pilot who lets a child climb into the basket for the first time.
It's the couple who gets engaged.
Those are the moments that remind me why we do this.
That's the magic.
Magic Over Murray exists to create moments that become memories.
To celebrate flight.
To celebrate community.
To help people discover the magic that has always been here.
To give families a reason to gather.
To remind us that wonder still exists.

It exists to help people discover the magic that has always been here.
